A current referral from an optometrist, GP or another specialist doctor is required.
You will need to have your pupils dilated for retinal examination and these drops take a few hours to wear off. Therefore, patients are advised not to drive for a few hours after their appointment.
It can be helpful to bring sunglasses that can be worn immediately after the appointment to reduce light sensitivity until the dilating drops have worn off.
